Solid country house with a big barn and plot of land located in a quiet
village 15 km away from Vratsa, Bulgaria. The house has two floors.
The ground level consists of a big hallway, corridor and spacious living
room with a kitchenette. Over the solid, internal, spiral staircase,
made of beautifully carved white stone blocks, one can get to the
second floor. Here you enter into a short corridor which provides
access to two bedrooms and a balcony looking at the backyard. The master
bedroom has a small terrace which provides panoramic overview at the
surrounding area – the main road, small stream, park and the
neighboring houses. Above the second floor is the attic which provides
additional space. There is a small storage room and two other premises
here which can be transformed into additional living areas. The
internal staircase connects all floors including the attic and the
basement which is beneath the living room. The wide hallway located on
the ground floor can be transformed into an additional living area or
into a normal size corridor, bathroom & toilet. The garden is located at
the back of the house. The plot of land is divided in two sections –
bigger piece (which holds both buildings – house and barn, as well as
some small bit of land) and smaller (which has several fruit trees in
it and provides some open space). The barn is very big and provides
plenty of space. It has two floors with two big premises on each
level. The second floor also has a terrace with nice panoramic views
towards the neighboring area and the distant mountain range. Both the
house and the barn have plenty of stone in their structures. The
previous owner was a skilled craftsman who worked well with stone and
marble. He was a shareholder in a quarry located in the area and with
materials from there and by using his own skills he made beautiful
ornaments and ware from the available materials. All of these he
integrated into the structures of the buildings and the fence
surrounding the property. The house was built in 1936 and resembles an
architectural style dating back to the times before WW 2. The property
stands out among all other buildings around it. It is situated near a
small park with public fountains and a small stream coming down from
the hills. The village where the house is situated is located about 10
km away from a small town (the center of the local council) and 15 km
away from the regional capital for this area - Vratsa. The near town
provides hospital, dental care, police station, fire station, shops
and supermarkets, gas stations, primary and secondary schools,
kindergartens, banks and ATM, restaurants and bars, disco, a few
coffee shops, farmer`s market every Thursday, bus station and train
station. This town is a railway junction and provides frequent and
cheap connection over rail to the regional center Vratsa, the national
capital city Sofia, the Black sea coast, the area around Veliko
Tarnovo and many other places across Bulgaria. Local buses travel
several times a day between the town and the village thus providing
cheap and easy connection. The area around is mainly hills and fields.
Not far away one can go fishing at the local lake while the Iskar
river, one of the biggest rivers in Bulgaria, passes about 10 km south
from the village. Solid rural property with unique architecture and
character waiting for new owners.
